Big
Thanks to all of you who came out to the Lizard last nite. The club
was sold out by the time we started our set, around
9:15. Over half of the pack were friends of our band... It's not
every day a triple bill of locals sells out the Lizard, so give
yourself a hand... Kudos to Previti, Dempsey and their tribes. Apologies
if you couldn't get in.
And Big Thanks also to the Globe's Meredith Goldstein for her Quick
Pick of the show in yesterday's Sidekick and on Boston.com.

Join
me and The 3 at Molly's
Pub, Friday, Oct. 12, for two sets starting around 9:45. The Sox
could be done clubbing Cleveland in the playoffs by then. :D ... For
your added enjoyment, we'll be playing a bunch of new originals including
"Maintain," "25% of Nothin'" and "Just the
Thing." |

Mike
Hallal & The 3 will be playing at Molly's
Pub, 173 Lewis Street, Lynn, MA, Wednesday nite, July 25th. Molly's
is a small Irish bar/restaurant two blocks from the beach in Lynn's
Diamond District. No cover. Bar phone: 781-593-6580... We'll be doing
two sets featuring new originals. The 3 are Jim Antonellis on drums,
Chris Schluntz on lead guitar and Chris Scribner on bass and keys...
Here's an infrared YouTube
video of the group doing "Good Mornin' Blues" at Molly's

Drummer
Jim Antonellis and I have been working with Chris
Schluntz and Chris
Scribner on a new band thing. We hope to be out gigging soon.
Here's a taste
of what we're doing: an original called Dancin'
in My Dreams. The recording's from a recent practice and pretty
raw, but you'll get the idea... That's Schluntzie on lead guitar and
Scribs on bass. |

"Still, We Believe: The Red Sox Movie"
is the winning
title for the new flick on the 2003 season, after a second round
of online voting yesterday. Choices included "This is the Year"
from the first round, plus 6 fresh titles suggested by fans... We're
still hopeful the director will find a place on the soundtrack for
our Red Sox Blues. As Laurie G. wrote, "...the song!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's got to be in there." More below.

This week the Red
Sox announced that a new movie on the 2003 season
will premiere in Boston on May 7 — and fans were given an opportunity
to help name the film by voting in an online poll.
Title options were "Another Season," "This is the Year,"
"Fenway Blues," and "Red Sox Blues"... I contacted
the director and presented our song Red Sox Blues for possible use
on the soundtrack, no matter what the poll results or final movie
title... On Friday, the Boston
Herald said, "We hear 'Red Sox Blues' has the 'Inside Track'
but stay tuned...." |

Turk's Head Review Editor James Esch weaves some
thoughtful adjectives together in his short wrap
on the Chains of Being CD and the band. In particular,
he points to "plenty of nice blues harmonica complementing
the admirable guitar work on this album," thereby setting off
an explosion of massively swollen heads... Seriously, Big Thanks
Jim.

Tonite the band recorded live jams at Kook’s
great sounding barn in Lynnfield. It was one of those times when
everything went right, nobody “argad” and everybody
had a ball… We put down start-to-finish takes of Spoonful
and Got Love If You Want It, and both will be on
the new album… Silvertone
Steve added his slide guitar magic, and Kook and the band really
cranked it up. Check out some pics
from the session. |

more originals (Dirty Trick, Hey Betty and Chromosomes)… Lynn's
