Big
Thanks to WBOS DJ Holly
Harris for playing Red Sox Blues tonite on her Blues on Sunday
show. She played it for good luck as Daisuke Matsuzaka took the
mound at Fenway Park to face the Yankees for the first time. Good
mojo Holly: Dice-K and the homerin' hometeam got the win,
7-6, and a series sweep... Holly's spin also marks 6 years of local
airplay for the little
shuffle.

The 2006 season ended early for the Sox, but a new son is rising
in Boston, Japan's warrior-pitcher Dice-K.
He may lead us to the top of the mountain once again.

Our Sox fell short on their bid to repeat as World Champs
this year, but their 2004 triumph continues to change our present
and future. "We'll get 'em next year," sounds like a real
possibility now. We've washed away all the years of bad luck, just
like we hoped for in Red
Sox Blues. |

Buckets of Thanks to Bob
Sprankle and his podcasting 3rd & 4th graders at Wells Elementary
School in Wells, ME... for including Red
Sox Blues in their Bobby
Bucket Show this week... Bob and his Room 208 crew are the lead
hook in today's New
York Times article, "New Tools: Blogs, Podcasts and Virtual
Classrooms." Congratulations folks! You are the future...
Big Thanks also to Bart
Steele of the Gyromatics,
for the intro to Bob. The Gyromatics' tune Man
I Love This Team, is the Song of the Week on the podcast.

At 11:40 PM ET the Boston Red Sox win the World Series,
and the last verses of the song
come true: "... We finally win it all / And all the years of
bad luck / We wash 'em clean one fine fall." "It
is," general manager Theo Epstein said after his team's domination
of the St. Louis Cardinals, "the ultimate cleansing."
(Sports Illustrated World Series Commemorative, 11/10, p. 58)
Thank
you 2004ever Red Sox.

The Red Sox crush the Yankees in Game 7 of the American League Championship
battle and head home for the 2004 World Series. Like the
song
says: "You'll want someone to talk to / When we finally win
it all / And all the years of bad luck / We wash 'em clean one fine
fall." And what a fine fall it is. Go Sox!

Thanks to Ernie Paicopolos of FenwayNation.com
for featuring Red Sox Blues at his much-respected, 4-year-old fan
site. He loves the song and has it playing automatically on a separate
page. Check
it out. Lots of Red Sox news and resources at Ernie's place.

"Still, We Believe: The Red Sox Movie" is the winning
title for the new flick on the 2003 season, after a second round
of online voting yesterday. Choices included "This is the Year" from
the first round, plus 6 fresh titles suggested by fans... We're still
hopeful the director will find a place on the soundtrack for our Red
Sox Blues. As Laurie G. wrote, "...the song!!!!!!!!!!! It's got
to be in there." More below.

This
week the Red
Sox announced that a new movie on the 2003 season
will premiere in Boston on May 7 — and fans were given an opportunity
to help name the movie by voting in an online poll.
Title options were "Another Season," "This is the Year," "Fenway Blues,"
and "Red Sox Blues"... I contacted the director and presented our
song Red Sox Blues for possible use on the soundtrack, no matter what
the poll results or final movie title... On Friday, the Boston
Herald said, "We hear 'Red Sox Blues' has the 'Inside Track'
but stay tuned...."

The band's been named Featured Artist by Digizaar.com...
Big Thanks to Digizaar founder Alex Rivest and COO Milana Sobol...
Boston-based Digizaar is a new online bazaar and independent artist
community offering original skins, music , software, digital art,
e-writings and more — for small change, or "micropayments" as they
call 'em. Digizaar pays artists the highest percentages I know of...
On our artist page there, you'll find all 11 songs from the new
album, available in high-quality digital files for just $ .75 each.
You can also get the CD and poster art files for a dime... The Featured
Artist sidebar will probably be up on Digizaar's homepage thru the
end of the month. Other featured bands include Dresden Dolls, Bourbon
Princess and Virtuoso.

In game 7 of the ALCS, just after midnite (12:16) in the bottom
of the 11th, Aaron Boone hits Wakefield's first pitch of the inning
for a walkoff homerun, and the Yankees beat the Red Sox 6-5... [%#!&*^@!!!]...
Kinda reminds me of a song...

WZLX 100.7 DJ and Red Sox Heartbreakers Support Group member
Carter Alan is spinning Red Sox Blues again. What
a guy! On his Sunday Morning Blues show this week, Carter followed
Red Sox Blues with Albert King's Born Under a Bad Sign... He also
played Brian Maes' Labor Day (The Day After) and scads more new
and classic blues, including a cut by the Jimmy Rogers All-Stars
— w/his son Jimmy
D. Lane plus other heavy hitters. What an honor. What a trip...
